The Leather and Lace collection has arrived at Downtown Knits- and in Downtown Knits tradition we are going to celebrate with a gathering this weekend!!
What is the Leather and Lace collection you ask? This is an amazing collection of yarns spun by artists all over the world- we used the same theme- leather and lace, from kits made up by Debra Lambert from Picasso’s Moon Yarn Shop and Arlene at Spin Artiste. The kits included natural colored fiber, some leather and pieces of lace. We were allowed to add one element to the mix and were asked not to dye the fiber. The result is a collection of incredible yarns, so incredibly different and yet all so cohesive. What’s the most awesome, is that this collection is going to be photographed and printed in a book and then is slotted to be auctioned off at the SWAY fiber fest in Sarasota in April and the money will be donated to charity!
This weekend we will celebrate it’s stay at Downtown Knits in Apex. Friday 3/1 from 6:30-9pm and Sunday from 1-4pm feel free to come by with your needles or wheel and have some fun with us. I will be doing a mini trunk show with yarns and fibers available as well!! And you know we’ll have some refreshments too.. because it’s not a party without something to nosh on!
