Carolina Fiber Fest will also hold a special place in my heart since it’s the first festival I ever had a real vending booth. It’s held during the Got to be NC AG Fest, so to say the Fairgrounds are hopping is an understatement!
We had a wonderful booth location and a great set up! I had lots of beautiful batts- including a good stock of Ethereal clouds from my new stock of mohair from Maryland Sheep and Wool! I also had a great variety of handspun- from smooth thick and thins to crazy tailspuns. The energy of this festival is a bit different, since it’s a part of the AG Fest- we get lots of people who have never seen handspun before- they are just walking through the building, and I know that my yarn blew some minds!
Of course I got the opportunity to teach a couple wonderful classes, which is always a treat! I also did a bit of shopping.. got some beautiful buttons and a shawl pin from the Raku potter- Courtney Tomchick and a couple amazing yarn bowls from Sue Henshaw. She liked my yarn so much you can now see it displayed in her bowls at her vending booth! I even got some dryer balls and a vintage Louet Carding Board from my friend Dawn. All in all it was an awesome weekend!!
I posted a slideshow of our photos from the weekend. Enjoy and we’ll see you next year!
